A website for a local newsroom that runs on video

WeVibeSitesUpdated
WeVibeSites.com cover for the News and media starter: a broadcast signal beside the post title.

The evening bulletin just wrapped. Your reporter got the only interview with the fire chief. The clip is good, and people in town are already talking about it.

Then someone shares a link, and it opens to a page that has not changed in weeks. The clip is buried on a video site, next to someone else's ads. Your anchor's name is spelled wrong. Nobody can find where to send you a tip.

Your newsroom does real work every day. Its website should look like it.

Built for bulletins, not just articles

Our News & Media starter is made for small TV stations, video newsrooms and online news shows. The heart of it is the bulletin. Each one gets its own page, and older ones stay in an archive people can browse.

Around the bulletins, the starter gives you:

  • A page for each anchor and reporter, with the names and bios you give us.
  • Sections for your beats, like city hall, schools or sports, named the way you name them.
  • A breaking-news strip at the top that you turn on and off yourself.
  • A tip form, so viewers can send you leads. Each tip goes to the inbox you name.

The starter keeps your rules. A story is only posted when a person on your team says so. Corrections stay on the page, so readers can see what changed. Bylines show who did the work.

You can see one look it can have on NVC News. It is a made-up station we run as a demo. It shows a video player, reporter profiles and a newsletter. Those are shown on the demo. They are not part of a Launch unless they are on your Launch list.

If you print an issue each day or each week, look at our Newspaper starter instead. That one is built around issues, subscribers and an archive of the paper.

The setup call

The starter code is free. Anyone can clone it for $0. A Launch is when we set it up with you. It is $2,500, paid once, and it is two hours, live, with one of our people.

On the call, we set up and test the tools you want. For a newsroom, that often means:

  • Online payments, if you sell ad spots or take reader support. Money goes into your own Stripe, PayPal or Square account. We never hold it.
  • Online booking, so guests or ad buyers can pick a time on your Google or Microsoft calendar. We make one real test booking.
  • A client portal. Advertisers sign in with a code we email them and see their bookings, invoices and files.
  • One contact list. Tips, forms, bookings and payments all land in one place. We bring in your current list.

We also add your station name, your logo, your colors and your real contact details, and check that it all works on a phone.

News moves fast. So can your site.

You will not wait on a web person to change a page. After Launch, you tell the site what you want, in plain English, like a text message.

Type "add a new section for high school sports." Type "add Jordan to the reporters page as our new weekend anchor." You look over the change before it goes live. That way of building is called vibe coding, and you make one real change like this on the call with us.

For small fixes, like a typo in a headline, we show you the visual editor. Click the words and fix them in place.

You keep the keys

Your site runs in your own Replit account. We charge $0 a month. Your host bills about $20 US a month for use, or we can host it for $19 a month. You own the code, and you can leave with a full copy any time.

We walk you through your own admin before we finish, so you know where tips, bookings and payments go.
